Engine Speed Monitoring DDE 4.1
Two sensors have the task of monitoring the engine speed:
- Crankshaft position/rpm sensor
- Camshaft Hall-effect sensor
Errors in the signals provided by these sensors are recorded in one of these fault codes:
- 0335, 0336 "Crankshaft speed"
Possible types of faults:
- Engine overspeed
- Signal dynamically implausible
- 1E25 "rpm sensor monitoring"
Possible types of faults:
- Crankshaft signal line from slave to master defective
- Monitoring from slave
- Crankshaft position/rpm sensor signal dynamically implausible
- Failure of rpm sensor signal, crankshaft
- 1E26 "rpm sensor monitoring"
Possible types of faults:
- Camshaft signal frequency too high
- Failure of rpm sensor signal, crankshaft
- Crankshaft position/rpm sensor signal dynamically implausible
- Failure of camshaft sensor signal
