The rail pressure control valve is an electrically operated valve that is mounted on the fuel distributor. The DDE slave control unit activates the rail pressure control valve with various pulse duty factors in order to set the required rail pressure calculated by the DDE control unit.
Depending on the type of activation, the pressure control valve allows more or less fuel to flow from the high pressure side into the depressurised return line thus enabling a specific pressure build-up on the high pressure side.
Fault codes 1195, 1196 "rail pressure control valve" are stored if an electrical fault is detected in the activation of the rail pressure control valve.
