Air distribution

2 electrical actuator drives consisting of stepper displacement motor and step-down gear are installed in the system to provide infinitely variable operation of the air outlet flaps.

One motor drives the fresh air and recirculated air function by means of two gates in the air intake boxes. This motor is mounted on a shaft. The other side is operated by an adjustable coupling linkage.

The remaining air outlet flaps are driven by means of two cam discs which in turn are driven by the other motor. Both linkages for footwell/rear area outlets engage in the one cam disc while the cable assemblies for the defrost and ventilation functions run over the other cam disc.

The mixing air flaps are operated mechanically by a lever in conjunction with a cable assembly (Bowden cable) coming from the centre grille.
