The roller sun blind is controlled by the centre console switch centre.
The roller sun blind is operated by means of a push button in the switch centre of the centre console or via an external push button in the rear compartment of the vehicle (E38 Series only, optional extra). By briefly pressing the push button, the roller sun blind is raised and lowered automatically and the direction of movement is changed every time the button is pressed.
In order to avoid damage to the roller sun blind, the drive is monitored for blocking by measuring the current. The drive is considered to be blocked when the permissible motor current is exceeded. In this case, activation of the drive for the roller sun blinds is terminated immediately.
A fault code is stored in the fault code memory of the switch centre in the case of a break or a short-circuit in the drive or line. In addition, the roller sun blind can be checked by reading out the push button statuses without activating the drive.
