On vehicles equipped with a latent heat accumulator , it is necessary that the valves of the latent heat accumulator and the auxiliary water pump are activated definitively by the heating/air conditioning control unit in order to avoid air in the coolant circuit .
The special tool is used to pressurize the coolant circuit . The auxiliary water pump circulates the coolant through the latent heat accumulator and heat exchanger . Air collects at the bleeder union.
Component statuses:
The coolant circuit is switched over such that the coolant no longer flows through the latent heat accumulator . The auxiliary water pump is switched off in order to avoid overflow at the open expansion tank .
Component statuses:
The heat exchanger is flushed with the engine running in order to completely bleed the cooling system. The auxiliary water pump is activated for this purpose in order to increase the flow rate. The remaining air in the expansion tank is flushed out once the thermostat has opened.
