As of terminal 15 "ON", the engine speed instrument (rev counter) is controlled by the instrument cluster with the corresponding engine speed signal.
The instrument cluster receives the engine speed information from the engine control unit via the CAN bus. The information is available as from terminal 15. The engine speed is indicated by a dial instrument with the scale in revolutions per minute (rpm) or 1/min).The end of the scale and the limit of the warning segment differ for diesel and petrol engines. Adaptation to the various scales takes place in the coding data.
The engine speed information is also made available on the body bus (K-bus ) for other control units.
