If the instrument cluster is coded for automatic transmission, the program and selector lever display for automatic transmission is activated.
The instrument cluster is connected to the transmission control unit via the CAN bus. The transmission control unit informs the instrument cluster via this CAN bus as to what drive stage is engaged, what driving program is active and whether the transmission is in the emergency mode program.
Dimming of the transmission program display is controlled by the light switching centre via the K-bus.
