The radiator shutter seals off the engine compartment from the outside and directs the cooling air under the engine.
The pressure converter connects the vacuum unit with the vacuum supply by means of hoses. When activated by the DDE control unit, the pressure converter switches vacuum through to the vacuum unit and the radiator shutter closes (= standard setting).

If a fault is detected in the control of the pressure converter, the following ”Radiator shutter” faults may be detected:
If a fault occurs, the radiator shutter opens (unless there is also a mechanical fault and the radiator shutter is sticking).
The radiator shutter is also opened if a fault on the coolant temperature sensor or the electric fan is detected.
