The injection rate solenoid valve is integrated in the injeciton pump and cannot be replaced separately.
The injection rate solenoid valve combines two functions. On the one hand, it determines the moment of injection and injection duration, on the other hand it serves to shut down the engine. At the calculated moment of start of delivery, the pump control unit closes the solenoid valve by means of a control pulse so that high pressure can now build up. Fuel is delivered via the high pressure line to the injection nozzle of the cylinder for as long as the solenoid valve needle keeps the valve seat closed. The pump control unit switches off the solenoid valve as soon as the required injection volume is reached.
Fault code 44 "injection rate solenoid valve" is stored if the injection rate solenoid valve is defective.
