The gearbox speed sensor detects the slip point of the clutch.
By comparing the with the engine speed, the DME control unit decides on the closing speed of the power transmission between the engine and gearbox created by the clutch.
The program-selector switch can be used to manually change the closing speed and thus the shift comfort.
The gearbox speed sensor is fitted at the outer front of the gearbox case at the same height as the drive shaft. The gearbox speed sensor is a Hall sensor. The sensor is supplied by the control unit with +5V and ground.
The gearbox speed is calculated from the impulse sequence on the feedback wire.
