EWS key status

The key number and the status of the key is determined in the test module "key status".

In order to display the key statuses, a valid, enabled and intact key must be inserted in the ignition lock and the ignition lock must be switched to position 1 or 2.

Displays

• Key number
  The EWS number of the key which is permanently programmed in the key.
  This number is entered during initial programming of the key at the factory and cannot be changed. This number is not identical to the key number of the remote control.
  There is no fixed allocation of the key number to a particular type of key (main key, spare key, workshop key). It is therefore necessary to determine what key number is missing before disabling a key.
  
• Key status
  The following key statuses are displayed:
  "Active". For the key that is inserted in the ignition lock.
  "Used at least once".
  "Not yet used"
  

Whether a key is "enabled" or "disabled" is indicated in the test module "Service functions - disable/enable key".
