Diagnosis of Hall sensors

The following points are to be observed during electrical diagnosis of the Hall sensors:

Defect Code Memory

If one Hall sensor has a short to ground, the entire voltage supply of the corresponding sensor group will be switched off. In addition to fault code ”10 Voltage supply of switches in vehicle defective” or ”11 Voltage supply of switches on convertible top defective” additional fault codes may be stored for each switch.

Therefore, if fault code 10 ”Voltage supply of switches in vehicle defective” or ”11 Voltage supply of switches on convertible top defective” are stored, initially, the sensor group should be checked for short to ground.

The following settings apply:

• Fault code 10 Voltage supply of switches in vehicle defective
  Switches (sensor group):
  I01120 Switch, convertible top down
  I01121 Switch, convertible top raised
  I01119 Switch, convertible top locked
  Hardtop switch
  
• Fault code 11 Voltage supply of switches on convertible top defective
  Switches (sensor group):
  I01130 Switch, scuttle locked
  I01129 Switch, scuttle released
  I01131 Switch, handle plate
