The on-board monitor (BM) for navigation is the operating unit (with cassette deck) and display for the following components:
The functions are operated and displayed on the monitor from the on-board monitor control panel.
The system users are interlinked via the K-bus. Keystrokes and the incremental transducer turns (radio rotary knob and BM rotary knob) are passed on to the individual components via the K bus. The cassette component is controlled by the radio via the K bus.
The graphics stage (navigation computer) creates the images from the K-bus information of the individual control units and transfers them via the RGB interface to the display.
LC display
The monitor temperature is measured by a temperature sensor. If the overtemperature threshold is exceeded, this is switched off and only reactivated after it has cooled down.
Radio LED
The radio LED is controlled via the K bus by the radio and it returns the status radio On/Off.
Incremental transducer
The radio rotary knob serves the purpose of setting the volume for all devices incorporated in the top navigation system.
The BM rotary knob is used to operate the menus of the composite system.
The following displays now appear for:
Button test
As long as no button is pressed, the button ”FF” appears on the display
All buttons can now be checked. Here, the display of ”FF” changes when not pressed to 01 to 25 depending on the button pressed.
The button test is interrupted automatically if no keystrokes are detected over a longer period.
Test for BM rotary knob and radio rotary knob
As long as no rotary knob is activated, ”00” appears in the corresponding display
Turning slowly to the left changes the display from ”00” to ”01”,”02”,”03” etc.
Turning slowly to the right changes the display from ”00” to ”FF”,”FE”,”FD” etc.
