SES Voice input
The voice input system consists of a separate control unit with corresponding link to the I/K-bus , the telephone button on the multifunction steering wheel , the microphone and the telephone speakers . In the instrument cluster voice input is indicated in the display and output via speakers .
The telephone button is pressed for at least 1 second to request voice input. The voice input system is now activated. Corresponding information appears in the instrument cluster . The recorded instructions are transferred via the I/K-bus and executed.
The peripherals (microphone and speaker) of the voice input system are checked as part of a self-test . This test is started and conducted by DIS (BMW Service Tester). The results are stored in the fault code memory.. The windows and doors must be closed for this purpose.
