Micro power module
The micro power module
- is connected to the PT-CAN data bus,
- is supplied with voltage via terminal 30<52,
- has an additional terminal 15. If terminal 30<52 is interrupted, the terminal 15 supplies the micro power module with voltage. The entry ”Terminal 30” is created in the fault code memory.
- can activate terminal 30<57 across a bistable relay. In the ”normal” operating mode, terminal 30<57 of the micro power module is always switched on. It is disconnected when a fault status is detected in the vehicle that could lead to discharge of the battery and thus to the vehicle not starting. The following control units can be switched on and off by the micro power module:
- Car Communication Computer
- Multi Audio System Controller
- DVD changer
- CD changer
- Navigation system
Switching on terminal 30<57
In the following cases, the relay for switching on terminal 30<57 is activated:
- the first time the power supply is applied to the micro power module
- when there is a voltage level at the input of terminal 15
- terminal R is ON
- on locking or unlocking the vehicle
- on opening or closing the luggage compartment lid
- on opening or closing a door
Switching off terminal 30<57
In the following cases, the relay for switching off terminal 30<57 is activated:
- when the starting capability limit of the battery is reached
- if the number of ”Wake-up signals” reaches a threshold of 30
- when there is an undervoltage (U < 9 V) with bus activity for a period of time greater than 60 seconds
- when the data bus K-CAN (with terminal R Off) remains awake after a period of 60 minutes.
Intelligent battery sensor
The state (voltage, current, temperature) of the battery is measured by the intelligent battery sensor. The intelligent battery sensor is connected by a serial cable and a wake-up cable to the Digital Engine Electronics (or Digital Diesel Electronics). The Digital Engine electronics (or Digital Diesel Electronics) send the information received from the battery sensor to the micro power module. On the basis of this information, the micro power module switches terminal 30<57 off or on.
