The Rear Seat Entertainment control unit is the major component of the DVD system in the rear.
The control unit is activated via the K-CAN.
The rear display serves as the display unit for the Rear Seat control unit. In addition, it contains the infrared transmitter unit of the headphones. The picture signals are transferred across an LVDS data line from the Rear Seat Entertainment control unit to the rear display.
The AV input of the Rear Seat Entertainment system cannot be diagnosed. As these sockets are fitted directly in the front panel, a visual inspection is sufficient to check whether there are any defective parts or other foreign bodies in the sockets.
The sockets of the wired headphones are fitted under the Rear Seat control unit in a separate front panel. They are connected to the control unit across a separate cable.
The infrared transmitter unit for the infrared headphones is fitted in the rear display
CDs or DVDs can be played in the drive. If read errors occur, the drive of the Rear Seat Entertainment system can be tested using the Audio Test CD.
The button pad is located directly on the front panel. The statuses of the buttons can be queried using the control unit functions.
The Rear Seat Entertainment system is to be switched on for the diagnosis
