Overview of functions

The following sensors are fitted on the gearbox in vehicles with manual gearboxes:

• Zero gear sensor
  
• Gearbox input speed sensor
  
• Gearbox temperature sensor
  

These sensors are fitted directly on the gearbox. The signals of these sensors are monitored and evaluated by the DME control unit.

The following sensor is also only fitted in vehicles with manual gearboxes:

• Longitudinal acceleration sensor
  The longitudinal acceleration sensor is fitted under the front passenger's seat. The signal of the longitudinal acceleration sensor is evaluated and monitored by the DME control unit.
  

In vehicles with SSG, the longitudinal acceleration sensor is also fitted; in these vehicles, however, the longitudinal acceleration sensor is integrated in the gearbox.
