Output drivers of the door modules
The output drivers of the door module switch to earth or plus. During the test, both switching states are measured.
The test takes place in the test module for each component group.
Test
In the test, the driver is activated via the diagnosis. In parallel, the technical measuring facility is used to measure the voltage against vehicle earth. If the output is not active, the resistance against earth is also measured.
Preparations
- Remove the connector from the drive and connect the appropriate adapter at the wiring harness.
- To obtain a reliable measuring result, the drive must not be connected to the adapter during the measurement.
- Connect the red cable of the test lead MFK1 to the specified pin on the adapter. The pin is specified in the test module.
- Connect the black cable of the test lead MFK1 to vehicle earth. Ensure that the connection to the vehicle earth is secure.
Test procedure
The measuring process is programmed in the test module and is executed fully automatically.
Important
During the measuring process, nothing may be operated on the vehicle.
The following test sequence is executed:
- The output driver is switched to earth by means of a diagnosis command.
- The technical measuring facility measures the voltage. The voltage against vehicle earth must be less than 1 V.
- This is followed by a resistance test. The resistance must be less than 10 Ohm.
- After the measurements, the output driver is switched against positive by means of a diagnosis command.
- The technical measuring facility measures the voltage. The voltage against vehicle earth must be greater than 11 V.
The measuring result is then displayed.
Testable outputs
The following outputs can be tested with this process:
- Central locking system (all door modules)
- Exterior mirror (only front door modules)
- Roller sunblinds (only rear door modules)
- Only Rolls-Royce:
Coach door lock (opening lock)
