Oxygen Sensors After Catalytic Converter

Due to the two-channel design of the exhaust system, a type LSH25 oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter is used per cylinder bank.

The oxygen sensors after the catalytic converter fulfil the following functions:

A temperature of approx. 300 °C is required for effective operation of the oxygen sensors. They are heated electrically. The heating is controlled by the DME.

Monitoring operation of the oxygen sensors after the catalytic converter is an integral part of on-board diagnosis. Malfunctions cause fault codes to be entered in the DME fault code memory.

Also refer to oxygen sensors before catalytic converter.
