After every replacement of the tank sensor electronics (TSE) or of the 20-pin wire harness of the secondary system capsule in the Clean Energy Control Unit assembly in BMW Hydrogen 7 vehicles, the fill volume recording must be recalibrated. This calibration can be carried out using the present service function. Terminal 15 should be switched on. The engine should be at a standstill.
Requirements for successful connection of these functions are the following conditioning parameters:
The calibration is started by selecting the test step [1]. Here, the function first checks whether the temperature and pressure conditions have been fulfilled. If they have been fulfilled, the calibration of the measurement path between the internal tank and TSE takes place. During execution of the diagnosis command, continuous feedback regarding the state of the current operation is provided. The entire calibration routine takes a few seconds.
Note:
A failed calibration leads to fault code memory entry 0x64DD ”TSE not calibrated/ defective”. A calibration routine that is carried out successfully can remedy this fault.
