Service function 'Access to the fuel tank and/or extraction line'

Every time work is planned on the fuel tank of a BMW Hydrogen 7 vehicle and the vehicle has to be inerted, the service function ”Access to fuel tank and/or extraction line” must be executed.

The function can only be carried out when all of the following conditions have been met:

• Terminal R is switched on.
  
• There is no H2 high alarm present.
  
• The gear selector switch is located in position P.
  
• The electromechanical parking brake is activated.
  

If any system errors occur, this service function is not aborted!

Operating principle and sequence of the service function:

The function enables access to the fuel tank and/or extraction line. The service function in the diagnosis tester can be used to activate three different request modes:

• Mode A: enables access to the fuel tank.
  
• Mode B: enables access to the extraction line.
  
• Mode C: enables access to the fuel tank and extraction line.
  
  

Note!

The service function must always be properly terminated after completion of the above-mentioned work on the fuel tank of a BMW Hydrogen 7 vehicle by selecting the test step [2]!
