Reduction of load-side peak consumption

If battery discharge is detected while the engine is running (despite increased idling speed), the power supply to electrical consumer units is gradually reduced or completely shut off.

The priorities for the shutdown are calculated by the power module.

There are priorities A and B

with the values from 0 to 6

Allocation of the consumer units to the priorities A and B

The consumer units are assigned priority A or B.

The value for priority A and B can differ.

Priority A is dependent on the battery condition and the current workload on the alternator. Priority B is only dependent on the battery condition.

The power module outputs the statuses for priority A and B with the following telegrams:

A = control_peak reduction_priority
B = control_peak reduction_priority_comfort

The status of priorities can be read out via the diagnosis.

Consumer units with priority A are:

Rear window heating (defogger)
Seat heating
Steering wheel heater
Mirror heating
Wiper park-position heater
Wet arm heating
Headlight-cleaning system
Active Seat
Seat ventilation

Consumer units with priority B are:

Heater fan (without defrost function)
Rear compartment air conditioning fan

Priorities 0 - 6

0 = normal operation without peak reduction
1 = cutoff of all consumer units
2 = not used
3 = not used
4 = maximum peak reduction
5 = medium peak reduction
6 = lowest peak reduction

Priority 1 is always output when:

terminal R is ON
alternator is defective
undervoltage is detected
