Background information on workshop braking-in

If the brake shoes of the Duo servo brake are replaced during repair or maintenance, the brake shoes must be braked in without fail to ensure there is an adequate holding effect. Workshop braking-in can take place on a roller test rig or on a road test drive.

Criteria for cancelling the braking-in routine

The braking-in routine is cancelled if:

1. After activation of the braking-in procedure via the diagnosis tool (DIS), the parking brake button is not pressed for 30 minutes.

2. Terminal 15 has the status OFF.

3. Other vehicle control operations (DSC, SAC, ABS, DBC) have been activated.

4. The threshold of 45 km/h travelling speed has been exceeded.

5. The vehicle comes to a standstill.

6. The parking brake button has been operated again.
