Door modules

The door modules register the signals of the switches and sensors installed in the doors and control the drives installed in the doors. Information is received and sent via the K-CAN PERIPHERALS data bus.

The functions differ in the individual door modules depending on the vehicle equipment and installation position.

The door modules are connected to the switch blocks in the doors by a one-wire data bus.

Components and functions

Switch block, driver's door

From the switch block in the driver's door, functions are operated with the following control elements:

Switch block in rear of car interior (in the case of special equipment roller sunblind)

In the case of special equipment with side window roller sunblind, a switch block is fitted in place of the autonomous power window switch in the rear doors. The signal transfer to the door module is across a one-wire data bus.

The functions are operated using the following switches and buttons:

Power windows

For the function of the power windows, each door module measures:

In the interplay of the power window mechanism with the electronics unit and the door module, the following functions are possible:

System lock

At the system lock, the door module controls the functions:

Door light

The door module controls the functions of the door light:

Mirror adjustment and folding mirror

The front door modules control the adjustment drives in the outside mirrors and the drive for the folding mirror function.

Mirror heating

The data for the mirror heating is supplied to the front door modules via the data bus K-CAN PERIPHERIE. The heat output is controlled via the outside temperature and wiper operation.

Electrochromic exterior mirror

For the function ”automatic darkening” of the outside mirrors, 2 cables are looped through the front door modules. The function is controlled through the inside mirror.
