TCU E87, E90: Registering a mobile phone (EURO, US)

The mobile phone is registered without the DIS tester.

Procedure with M-ASK or CCC

1. On the Control Display, select the following menu:
   Start menu --> menu ”Settings” (press the controller) menu item --> ”Communication settings” menu item --> ”Bluetooth” menu item --> ”Settings”
   Activate Bluetooth. When Bluetooth communication has been activated, ”Bluetooth communication active” is displayed with a check mark at the start of the line.
   
2. Exit from the ”Settings” menu. In the ”Bluetooth” menu, select the menu item ”Telephone”. ”Bluetooth can be connected in this menu” is displayed.
   
3. The following settings must be made:
   
   • on the mobile phone, switch on Bluetooth.
     
   • on the mobile phone, look for Bluetooth accessories. Select the device BMW XXXXX, whereby XXXXX are the last five digits of the vehicle identification number.
     
   • on the mobile phone and on the Control Display, enter the same Bluetooth passkey. The Bluetooth passkey must be four digits and can be selected as you wish. For example, enter 1234.
     
   • ”External device call waiting” appears in the Control Display. Select ”Add device”.
     
   Important! The order and exact sequence for these settings depend on the mobile phone. Consult the operating instructions for the mobile phone.
   

Procedure with RAD2

1. Press the right-hand button ”MENU”. Select the ”Telephone” menu. If Bluetooth has not yet been activated, you are prompted to do so. In this case, select ”BT ON”.
   
2. ”Searching for connected devices” is displayed. Select ”BT”. Select ”Search”.
   
3. The following settings must be made:
   
   • on the mobile phone, switch on Bluetooth.
     
   • on the mobile phone, look for Bluetooth accessories. Select the device BMW XXXXX, whereby XXXXX are the last five digits of the vehicle identification number.
     
   • on the mobile phone and on the display, enter the same Bluetooth passkey. The Bluetooth passkey must be four digits and can be selected as you wish. For example, enter 1234.
     
   • ”External device ready” appears in the display. Select ”Add”.

When the mobile phone has been successfully connected, the name of the mobile phone appears on the display with a check mark. The reception quality of the mobile phone is also displayed.
