Ride-height-calibration

On the E70, in contrast to previous models, the following control units are calibrated simultaneously depending on the equipment fitted:

Electronic Height Control

vertical dynamics management

Dynamic Drive

After work on the air suspension system involving the control unit stated, correction values must be entered in the control units. These correction values are determined in this test module after entering rim size and actual values on the E70. They are stored automatically in the recognised control units.

Service functions

Ride-height-calibration

Ride-height-calibration must be carried out after the following operations:

- Replacement of the control unit

- Replacement of height-level sensors

- Replacement of the wiring harness

- Stored fault 5D56 with fitted Dynamic Drive

Before the ride-height-calibration is run, the following points must be observed:

The vehicle must be in a horizontal position.

The chassis must not be tensioned.

The air suspension must have ceased operation (to be safe, switch the engine on and off).

The supply must be ensured (check battery voltage).

During the ride-height-calibration, the vehicle must not be loaded or unloaded.

Before adjustment, check the height once again.

The ride-height-calibration is run automatically in the following sequence after entering the rim size and measured actual value (gap between wheelhouse edge / rim flange at bottom):

Recognition of the fitted control units.

Check of the vehicle speed if Dynamic Drive is fitted.

Setting the transport mode if level control is fitted.

Reading in the rim size and actual values.

Adjustment of the fitted control units.

After the ride-height-calibration, the transport mode is automatically deleted. Control operation starts with the engine running. (In all cases, the transport mode must be deleted again before delivery to the customer).
