Assessment of the measured values
- The measured values of the rear-window aerial must differ with the roof opened and closed, i.e. with the roof closed greater field strength values must be measured than with the roof opened.
- The measured values of the aerials in the side panels behave in precisely the opposite manner to the measured values of the rear-window aerial, i.e. with the roof closed smaller field strength values must be measured than with the roof opened.
- In the event of conspicuously low measured values, change the vehicle position and repeat the measurement.
Aerials in the E93 Convertible
In the E93 Convertible, different aerials are used. With the convertible top closed, aerials FM1 and FM3 in the rear window are used. With the convertible top opened, aerials FM1 and FM3 in the side panels are used. In the field strength evaluation, the field strengths of all six aerials are measured with the convertible top opened and closed.
