Accelerator pedal module DDE6.0/6.3

The DDE control unit is informed of the position of the accelerator pedal by means of electrical signals generated by the pedal position sensors. The pedal position sensors are integrated in the accelerator pedal module.

Function

The accelerator sensors each have three connector pins.

The accelerator sensors take their 5 V power supply and earth connection from the DDE control unit. Depending on the angle of rotation, they return different measured voltages to the DDE control unit. This control unit evaluates the measurement voltage and converts the voltage value into the accelerator pedal setting as a percentage.

Idle speed and full throttle position

The idle, full throttle and kick-down positions are detected by way of voltages of the pedal position sensors.

Troubleshooting

The following faults can be detected on the accelerator sensors:

• Accelerator sensor 1 (PWG):
  
  • 3F10, Signal short circuit to positive
    
  • 3F11, Signal circuit break or short circuit to earth
    
  • 3F13, Implausibility between potentiometers 1 and 2
    

• Accelerator sensor 2 (PGS):
  
  • 3F20, Signal short circuit to positive
    
  • 3F21, Signal circuit break or short circuit to earth
    
  • 3F23, Implausibility between potentiometers 1 and 2
    

Consequences:

• Injection volume is limited
  
• Charge-air-pressure is switched off and switched over to charge-air-pressure control
  
• Air conditioning compressor is shut down
  
• Idling speed is increased
