2 setting options are provided for the air distribution: Individual setting of the air distribution and automatic air distribution (AUTO button).
The individual setting of the air distribution is signalled by the function light in the rotary knob. The function light in the rotary knob for air distribution goes out when the AUTO button is pressed. The opening angles of the defrosting, ventilation and footwell flaps are set automatically depending on the inside, outside and specified temperatures.
The flaps are controlled by means of stepper motors via the MI bus (engine bus). The stepper motors are not able to detect their actual position. The stepper motors always move relative to a reference point. A flap end position (0% or 100%) serves as the reference point.
The motors are coded and can only be installed in the designated position. It is not possible to interchange the motors.
Automatic blower mode remains active if the rotary knob is turned manually during automatic air distribution. The function light in the AUTO button goes out.
