Automatic recirculated air control

In the automatic recirculated-air control mode, automatic switches are made between fresh air and recirculated air mode depending on the air quality.

The following function can be selected in succession by pressing the AUC/recirculating air button several times: Fresh air, AUC, recirculated air. Recirculating air mode and automatic recirculated-air control mode are each indicated by a green function indicator lamp (LED) on the operating unit/control unit.

The air pollutant sensor required to record the air quality is located on the intake frame of the electric fan.

Start phase

When starting the vehicle, fresh air is always supplied for 90 seconds due to the AUC sensor heating-up time.

Forced ventilation with fresh air

A permanent request for recirculating air mode is interrupted by forced ventilation with fresh air mode. The reason for this is that the oxygen in the vehicle interior is used up in recirculating air mode. Moreover, in recirculating air mode, the relative humidity in the interior of the vehicle can increase due to the lack of fresh air. This results in condensation forming on the window.

The forced ventilation cycles depend on whether the A/C compressor is switched off or on. The fresh air is already pre-dried if the A/C compressor is ON. The duration of recirculating air mode is therefore longer.
