General information on the stationary auxiliary heating unit
This document provides general information and describes the procedure in the event of a locked stationary auxiliary heating unit.
Information on the locked stationary auxiliary heating unit
Unlocking the heater lock:
The service function ”Stationary auxiliary heating unit” ”Unlock” has to be run.
General information and notes
Information on fault-free use of the stationary auxiliary heating unit.
- Avoid undervoltage, check the battery and alternator, inform customer of the problem of short distance driving.
If undervoltage occurs, the IHKA (Integrated automatic heating and air conditioning system) does not send a start telegram to the stationary auxiliary heating unit, which means that operation is not possible. Please always include IHKA faults in your examination and/or in the diagnosis of the stationary auxiliary heater.
- As a general principle, a tank fill level of ”Reserve” means that stationary auxiliary heating operation is no longer possible.
- Smoking: The stationary auxiliary heating unit is a vaporising burner. With short-distance driving, the burner is enriched many times over, which means that smoking is inherent in its operating principle. The short combustion phases mean there is no burn-off.
- System test: A system test can place the stationary auxiliary heating unit up to full-load operation, whereby it then shuts down automatically.
