Important! Please observe when replacing a control unit with which no communication was possible!

After the control unit has been replaced and programmed, injector volume adjustment must be carried out. The codes of the injectors fitted on the vehicle must be stored on the new control unit. To perform this operation, use service function ”Injector volume adjustment”.

Introduction

The control unit connector is a modular design consisting of two connector modules with a total of 154 pins.

• Connector module 1: 96 pins (interface with engine and injector wiring loom)
  
• Connector module 2: 58 pins (control unit power supply and interface with vehicle wiring loom)
  

Ambient-pressure sensor

The ambient-pressure sensor is integrated in the DDE control unit and cannot be replaced separately.

Electronics box fan (E-box fan)

In vehicles with hot-country equipment, an E-box fan is fitted in the E-box for better heat dissipation. Activation of the E-box fan is monitored by the DDE.

Note: The fault locations that serve to monitor the E-box fan activation are used to monitor the heater of the crankcase ventilation on vehicles with cold-country equipment.

Troubleshooting

The DDE control unit is monitored for different internal faults. If an internal fault occurs, the DDE control unit must be replaced.
