Floating the support block
Repair instruction for floating the support block
Check whether the hardtop moves into the centre of the support block.
Vehicles manufactured up to calendar week 14/2007
- Open the hardtop until the support block is accessible.
- Apply plasticine to the mounting of the support block. See Fig. 1.
- Open the hardtop until the roof package is fully stored.
- Close the hardtop until the support block is accessible again.
- Use the imprint in the plasticine to determine the position of the hardtop.
- According to the imprint, adjust the width of the support block so that the hardtop moves into its centre.
Note:
only adjust the support block at the lower screw; the upper screw must not be loosened.
Vehicles manufactured as of calendar week 14/2007
In these vehicles, a mounting bolt is fitted in the mounting on the support block. The support block itself no longer has to be adjusted.
- Close the hardtop and loosen the mounting bolt of the mounting on the support block. See Fig. 2.
- Open the hardtop until the roof package is fully stored.
- Close the hardtop until the support block is accessible again.
- Tighten the mounting bolt of the mounting on the support block with a tightening torque of 4.5 Nm.
If the problem persists, make sure that the luggage compartment is loaded correctly.
