Diagnosis CCC - Self- and system tests

Diagnosis CCC - Self- and system tests

Background

The Car Communication Computer (CCC) contains the following five control units:

  1. CCC-A / applications
  2. CCC-ASK / Audio System Controller
  3. CCC-GW / gateway
  4. CCC-BO / user interface
  5. CCC-ANT / aerial tuner

To detect faults, there are several test routines in each of these control units. If there are faults, they are entered in the corresponding fault code memory. During operation, however, due to the additional load on the processor, not all of the present test routines are run.

These additional test routines have to be started separately. For this purpose, there are so-called self-tests for each control unit and in some control units additional system tests. If these are started, several individual tests are carried out. If faults occur, entries are also made in the fault code memory.

This means that for a thorough diagnosis, the self-tests and system tests of the individual control units have to be run before fault code memory can be checked.

This is done automatically in the present inspection plans for the CCC.

This document describes scope of the self-tests and system test in the individual control units.
