Preset measurement ”Absolute compression”

Cables used

• Diagnostic cable
  
• TD cable
  
• Pressure sensor cable at connection P2 with pressure sensor 25 bar
  
• Test probe for gasoline engine (special tool no. 11 0 226)
  

Procedure

• The engine must be at operating temperature!
  
• Select the screen button ”Preset measurement”.
  
• Switch off ignition.
  
• Connect the TD cable to the diagnostic head.
  
• Remove fuse for fuel pump or for fuel-pump relay (not required for engine N62!)
  
• Start the engine and allow to run out with remaining fuel (not required for engine N62!)
  
• Unplug the connector for the fuel injection
  
• Connect the ammeter clip to the delivery line of the starter.
  
• Unplug all the delivery lines at the ignition coils.
  
• Remove the ignition coil and spark plug from an accessible cylinder.
  
• Screw in the test probe for gasoline engines with fast release coupling in place of the spark plug.
  
• Connect the pressure sensor 25 bar to the test probe by means of a fast release coupling.
  
• Enter the position (cylinder) of the measuring sensor in the ”Preset measurement”.
  
• Operate the starter until the fixed display is active.
  
• Close ”Preset measurement”. The test module runs an evaluating of the stored pressure readings,
  

Note

Prior to a renewed measurement, the fixed display must be deactivated and the fast release coupling released briefly. This releases the pressure in the measuring sensor.
