CAN Bus DDE 3.0

Data exchange between the following control units takes place via the CAN bus:

• DDE control unit
  
• Injection pump control unit integrated in the injection pump
  
• Instrument cluster control unit
  
• ABS/ASC control unit
  

Troubleshooting

Following faults are recognized concerning the CAN bus:

• Fault code 45, "DDE control unit (CAN controller)"
  Consequence: Engine shuts down
  
• Fault code 46, "injection pump control unit (communication)"
  Consequence: Engine shuts down
  
• Fault code 72, "CAN-bus"
  Set in the case of faults in communication with the instrument cluster control unit and the ABS/ASC control unit.
  Consequence: The functions whose messages are affected by failure of the CAN-bus fail, e.g. ASC and engine drag torque control.
