Selector shaft position sensors

The position sensors are designed as Hall sensors.

The position sensors of the selector shaft are fitted on the top side of the modified rear case section.

The selected gear shift gate is detected via the selector angle sensor. Four gear shift gates are possible: gear shift gate R for reverse gear, the gear shift gate for first and second gear, the gear shift gate for the third and fourth gear, as well as the gear shift gate for the fifth gear.

The current transmission position is detected via the gear shift travel sensor in conjunction with the selector angle sensor.

Brief description of components

The position sensors are supplied with current via the sensor-supply voltage (5 V) generated in the SMG control module. Each position signal goes across a signal wire to the SMG control module.
