The trunk lid/tailgate release makes it possible to unlock the trunk lid/tailgate electrically.
The trunk lid/tailgate is released via an electric drive with integrated return spring.
The drive is activated directly by means of the general module V of the central body electronics.
The trunk lid/tailgate is released by pressing a button in the vehicle interior when the vehicle is stationary and the central locking system is not armed.
In addition, the trunk lid/tailgate can be opened, with the central locking locked, by pressing the button on the key-chain transmitter.
Note: Remote control functions are executed only if there is no key inserted in the ignition lock.
In the event of electrical operation failing the system can be released mechanically through the vehicle interior.
When closing the trunk lid/tailgate, ensure that the trunk lid/tailgate is not banged shut but rather is pressed down by hand. Pressing down the lid/hatch is the only way to ensure that the trunk lid lock engages correctly and the trunk lid switch detects that the lid/hatch is closed.
If a trunk lid/tailgate is not correctly engaged, anti-theft alarm indicates by flashing the DWA-LED that not all the switches are in the idle state. There is then no visual DWA acknowledgement via the hazard warning system.
