Overview of functions

The following sensors are fitted on the transmission in vehicles with manual transmissions:

• Zero gear sensor
  
• Transmission input speed sensor
  
• Transmission temperature sensor
  

These sensors are fitted directly on the transmission. The signals of these sensors are monitored and evaluated by the DME control module.

The following sensor is also only fitted in vehicles with manual transmissions:

• Longitudinal acceleration sensor
  The longitudinal acceleration sensor is fitted under the front passenger's seat. The signal of the longitudinal acceleration sensor is evaluated and monitored by the DME control module.
  

In vehicles with SSG, the longitudinal acceleration sensor is also fitted; in these vehicles, however, the longitudinal acceleration sensor is integrated in the transmission.
