The DDE control module is informed of the position of the accelerator pedal by means of electrical signals generated by the pedal-position sensors. The pedal-position sensors are integrated in the accelerator pedal module.
The pedal-position sensors each have three connector pins.
The pedal-position sensors take their 5 V power supply and ground connection from the DDE control module. Depending on the angle of rotation, they return different measured voltages to the DDE control module. This control module evaluates the measurement voltage and converts the voltage value into the accelerator pedal setting as a percentage.
The idle, full throttle and kickdown positions are detected by way of voltages of the pedal-position sensors.
