When and in what order the service functions are to be performed:
1 |
After replacement of the following units: SMG control module Transmission Clutch Sensor |
Run service function ’Learn transmission’. Note: The transmission control learns the clutch characteristics during the driving off operations. For this reason, comfort can be impaired in the case of the first gear shifts. |
2 |
To recalibrate the gearshift: |
Run service function ’Recalibrate transmission’. Note: Over the life of the transmission, the sensor signals can be displaced. The resulting shifting problems can be remedied by repeated learning of the H shift diagram. |
3 |
For all work on the hydraulic system |
1. Run service function ’Preliminary work on the hydraulic system’. This reduces the hydraulic pressure. 2. Disconnect relay K6318 in the electrics box. 3. Perform the work. 4. Check/top up hydraulic oil level according to repair instructions. 5. Reconnect relay K6318 6. Run service function ’After work on the hydraulic system’. This vents the hydraulic system. 7. Check/top up hydraulic oil level according to repair instructions. 8. Run service function ’Learn transmission’. |
The procedures must be followed when working on the hydraulic system:
Before any work is carried out on the hydraulic system, it must be depressurized by means of the service function.
While work is being carried out on the hydraulic system, the relay K6318 must be disconnected to prevent the hydraulic pump switching on unexpectedly. The pump must not run dry. As soon as the door is opened, the SMG control module activates the relay of the hydraulic pump at an accumulator pressure below approx. 40 bar.
Do not reconnect the hydraulic pump relay K6318 for the entire duration of the repair.
