Butyl bonding defective

Repair instruction for defective butyl bonding of the roof shell seal

Check the butyl bonding for holes and cracks.

1. Press the sealing lip of the roof shell seal to one side. Check the bearing surface of the butyl for holes or cracks. See Fig. 1.
   Note:
   do not remove the seal!
   
2. If damage to the butyl is determined, this damage must be touched up. Where possible, do not remove the seal to do so, as otherwise there is a high risk of creating a new leak.
